Welcome to VAN RIE STUDIO ("we", "us", "our"). We are a UAE-based textured art business offering original artwork and, where available, commissioned artwork through our website at vanriestudio.com.

By accessing or using this website, or purchasing artwork from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

2. Artwork

All artwork displayed on this website is created by ELIZABETH VAN RIE / VAN RIE STUDIO.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, artwork offered for sale is an original, one-of-a-kind piece.

Because our artwork is handmade, each piece may contain natural variations in:

  • texture

  • colour

  • finish

  • brush or tool marks

  • dimensions

  • small imperfections associated with the handmade process

These characteristics are part of the nature and individuality of handmade artwork and should not automatically be considered defects.

We make every reasonable effort to photograph and describe artwork accurately. However, colors may appear slightly different depending on your device, monitor, screen settings and lighting conditions.

3. Artwork Availability

Original artworks are generally available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adding an artwork to your cart does not guarantee that it will remain available until checkout is completed.

We reserve the right to correct pricing, description or availability errors. If an error affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.

4. Prices and Payment

All prices displayed on the website are in AED, unless otherwise stated.

Applicable taxes, delivery charges or other fees will be displayed where applicable before you complete your purchase.

Payment must be successfully received before an order is considered confirmed.

We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout.

5. Orders

Once an order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation by email.

An order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order; it does not necessarily mean that the order has been dispatched.

We reserve the right to cancel an order in exceptional circumstances, including where an artwork is unavailable, incorrectly priced, damaged before dispatch, or where we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will arrange an appropriate refund.

6. Shipping

Shipping and delivery information is provided in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including courier delays, customs procedures, weather, public holidays or other unforeseen events.

The customer is responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address and contact information.

7. Returns and Refunds

Our returns and refunds are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict any rights you may have under applicable law.

8. Damaged Artwork

We take care to package artwork securely before dispatch.

If artwork arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and provide clear photographs of:

  1. The artwork;

  2. The packaging;

  3. Any visible damage to the external packaging; and

  4. The shipping label.

This allows us to assess the issue and, where appropriate, work with the courier to resolve it.

9. Intellectual Property

All artwork, photographs, videos, website content, text, branding, logos, graphics and designs displayed on this website are owned by or licensed to VAN RIE STUDIO, unless otherwise stated.

Purchasing an original artwork does NOT transfer copyright or other intellectual-property rights in that artwork to the purchaser.

You may display artwork you have purchased in your personal or business premises, but you may not reproduce, copy, trace, manufacture, resell, digitally reproduce or commercially exploit the artwork without our prior written permission.

Our photographs and website content may NOT be copied or used for commercial purposes without permission.

10. Artist's Portfolio Rights

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we reserve the right to photograph completed artwork and use photographs or videos of the artwork for our portfolio, website, social media, marketing and promotional purposes.

11. Website Use

You agree not to use this website for unlawful purposes or in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden or interfere with the website or our business.

You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our website, accounts, systems or customer information.

12. Third-Party Services

Our website may use third-party services including Shopify, payment processors, delivery providers, analytics services and other applications or integrations.

These services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful or would otherwise restrict rights that cannot legally be excluded.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version displayed on this website at the time of your purchase will generally apply to that purchase, subject to any rights you may have under applicable law.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
